VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION – SUNDAY USHER
POSITION: Sunday Usher
PURPOSE: To support and accomplish a spiritual atmosphere for the Sunday service at UGC.
SCHEDULE: Once Monthly as scheduled by the Church Secretary
REPORTS TO: Lead Usher
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Help provide a spiritual atmosphere at UGC by assisting people find a seat at the Sunday Service. This assistance is often need by those coming for the first time,people who are disabled or other people needing assistance such as a glass of water.
2. Arrive at Church by 10:15 to begin duties; collection count is usually done by 12:15 p.m.
3. Pass the collection basket as directed by the Lead Usher.
4. Process and count the collection as provided by church written policies.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Ability to use an electronic calculator; a calm demeanor; helpful and caring attitude of service; an email account for scheduling.
COMMENTS: Specific training will be provided by the Lead Usher or Volunteer Coordinator
