SCHEDULE:    One or two Sundays a month and a monthly meeting. The schedule will be regular (e.g. teaching Unikids the 1st Sunday of every month).

REPORTS TO:  Family Services Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.       On teaching Sundays, arrive half an hour (or more) BEFORE church starts to review materials and to pray with teachers from 10:10-10:15. Be in room by 10:16 to welcome children.

2.       Welcome children with love and enthusiasm, and teach and lead as best you can, using the given lessons/games and projects.

3.       At the end of church, connect younger children( under nine) WITH parents, thank parents for bringing children and visit briefly with parents if they’d like to talk, and clean up the room (wipe counters, put away materials, straighten up).

SPECIAL SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  Must like children, should enjoy stories, crafts, games and discussions.  Teachers do not generally have to design lessons. Each group has either a curriculum or a typical order of events ( 0-5).  The family services director will oversee curriculum and lessons for all groups and is seeking a volunteer to buy ahead for crafts and games (so that teachers don’t have to worry about supplies). The suggested crafts, activities and games are not complicated and require no special skills.
